Would you like a better way to engage visitors and get results from your lead and sales offers? In this article, we share strategies that use bullet points to guide people to take action. We are also introducing a subtle update to the bullet list element and new prebuilt sections designed to increase conversions.
Using bullet points is a powerful way to get visitors to engage with your website messaging and increase responses to your offers.
Not using bullets or using them incorrectly can hurt your page conversions.
Following the guidelines in this post, you can use bullet points as an effective conversion strategy.
To make it even easier to use bullet points on your landing pages and websites, we’re introducing two new features to our bullet list element:
These features are designed to save you time and allow you to quickly implement bullet point lists on your pages with minimum effort and design skill. We’ll cover more about these new features later in this article.
To get more leads and sales from your websites, getting your message across is vital. By using bullet points, you can make your content easier to read and deliver your message in a clear and concise way.
Bullet points help break information down, making it digestible for the visitor. You can use bullets to emphasize key product benefits allowing people to grasp your sales message's most important parts.

Bullet Point Optimization: Focus your bullet points on the benefits people receive from your products and services. As the saying goes, "Features tell, but benefits sell".
When used properly, bullet points can be very powerful. And better yet, they reduce the content on your webpage making it easier to navigate.
With a few well-placed bullet points, you can have a minimal page that contains only the key elements.
But ensuring your bullet points are effective requires careful planning and consideration. Here are some strategy tips for creating bullet sections that compel visitors to take action.
Keep your bullet points as simple and as clear as possible by avoiding complex sentences.
The easier your bullets are to read, the better engagement you will have with visitors. This will ensure that you increase the chance of people taking the desired action.
In this example, Marie Forleo has kept her bullets to a single line and capitalized keywords to highlight benefits.
She has also made use of bold text to encourage further reading.
Always stick to a consistent design, format and style to improve the layout. We would also go a stage further by keeping your bullet descriptions to a similar length. This will make the content easier to read and allow people to absorb information easily.
In this example, Voiceflow uses a colour scheme and text style that is uniform and consistent. All bullets are evenly spread out to make them easier to read.
Having too many bullets can confuse and overwhelm your visitors. Instead, focus on the most important points that will have the most appeal. This will ensure that your page is clean and is easy to read.
Here’s an example from Matthew Hussey’s Get The Guy. It uses three simple bullet points that direct his readers on where to go next.
Bullet points can be a very effective way to guide your visitors, which is essential for increasing conversions on your page.
Each bullet point should follow the same grammatical structure, creating a smooth flow and enhancing readability.
Avoid using complex words and stick to a basic reading level that is accessible to everyone.
This example from Bodybuilding.com uses short phrases to explain the benefits of what the customer will get for becoming a subscriber.
It also uses bold text to highlight key features and uses a consistent colour scheme.
Conversion Tip: Notice the bullets are all a fairly similar length, which helps readability. If you have shorter bullets, use these at the bottom of your bullet list.
White space is an essential aspect of website conversion. The less content in a given section of your web page, the better it will focus people's attention. Include enough space between and around your bullets to make them easier to read.
TeuxDeux uses white spacing to make the bullets easier to read. It also includes bolded text in the bullet headlines for helping visitors read and skim through the content.
With the OptimizeBuilder bullet block element, we made adding and styling bullet points simple. Allowing you to add your content quickly and not worry about design.
At OptimizePress, we constantly look for ways to improve existing features and speed up your processes.
…That is why we have now added horizontal alignments to the bullet block element.
Previously, creating horizontal bullets required adding multiple bullet block elements within the row.
With horizontal alignments turned on, you now have to insert one bullet block element and align it perfectly in horizontal format. You can find the option by going to Bullet Block Options >> List Layout
By default, all bullet points will be set to vertical.
A simple mouse click on the horizontal option will automatically align your bullets in the horizontal format. Saving you space and time with having to manually add multiple elements and carefully aligning them to match.
With the new horizontal alignment, your bullet lists are extra effective on checkout pages, underneath guarantee boxes and in many new applications
To help you get high-converting bullet lists onto your OptimizePress pages, we have created 44 new Bullet List Sections.
These sections are pre-built and ready to use inside the OptimizePress Builder.
We took inspiration from our highest converting pages and made them into conversion-optimized section templates so you don’t have to build them from scratch.
Simply drag-and-drop the pre-built section onto your page to use it.
You can customise and edit these new sections to fit your brand.
With the new horizontal alignment and done-for-you sections, you now have more flexibility to design and organize your bullet points.
